    Description

Own an authentic piece of early American tattoo history with
    his original hand-painted flash sheet.
This beautiful original vintage tattoo flash sheet is a one-of-a-kind example of classic American tattoo art.
    Painted in
    the early 1900s
on New York City's Bowery -- the birthplace of American Tattooing --
this one-of-a-kind original flash sheet from one of tattoo history's most important venues comes from the extensive collection of world famous tattoo artist, Jonathan Shaw.
America’s Tattoo Master, Mr. Samuel F. O’Reilly, trained Ed Smith, along with Charles Wagner in the 20’s and 30’s on the Bowery in New York City. Bums, empty bottles and the elevated train ran the streets back then. This rare flash sheet was
acquired by Jonathan Shaw together with a large collection of antique tattoo designs from New York's infamous Bowery tattoo studios. It is
part of the renowned archives of classic tattoo artwork featured in Shaw's ongoing book series Vintage Tattoo Flash published on Powerhouse Books.
    This classic original flash sheet
measures aprox. 11" x 14" and comes with a hand-written letter of authenticity from Shaw.
